| Hello folks, I'm new into here.
I was plaing with my new SLK Comand ENG secret menu (Mute+3+4+6), because I wanted to play DVD with MP3 inside since I could only play CD's from Main Unit reader, when I don't know why maybe I touched some weird setting now the comand screen (I have a comand aps on my SLK 350 2004 edition) show "Software Update" and there it remains!

I clicked on "invalidate application" just before that appear,

How can I reset it?
How can I delete this "Software Update" screen?
How can I solve that?
It will drain my battery! I unplugged the battery with no success and then I removed two fuses. So now I do not have anymore any Comand function available since it is off.
I'm desperate!
Looking at the pics I took before the break i can tell you what firmware version I had:
EU SLK HeadUnit W171 589 00 22 00
SW-Rel 9.390 Build 15/04
And I read somewhere that I can buy this update cd and it cost 10 Pounds more or less.
Anyone know if that is true?
Anyone can give me this cd via internet since I read it is only few Mb?
I read that I must buy this versions of Update CD's:
W171 589 00 22 00 SW-Rel 9.390 Build 15/04
W171 589 01 22 00 SW-Rel 15.130 Build 51/05
W171 589 03 22 00 SW-Rel 21.090 30/06
Now, as far as I discovered only the first one (SW-Rel 9.390 Build 15/04 the one I had in the car) can be manipulated using ENG hidden menu.
Is that true?
Otherwise I buy newest versions if can be entered using combination keys.
I also heard some guy that have "hacked" Comand newest firmware version with Star Diagnose but from not authorized MB garages.
Hope you can help me out with the disc and at least understand which version of Update CD I must buy from the dealer to play DVD with MP3 and use ENG hidden menu.

Hi Daniele!
Your situation sounds indeed desperate to me. I hope you get this back working soon.
The only firmware that allows entering the ENG menu with the known key combination is the one from 2004 I believe. The one from 51/05 removed this possibility or at least changed the key combination and the new combination is so far unknown if there is any at all. Also if you ever want to use the newest navigation DVDs in the trunk then you must update to the latest firmware version as this is a pre-requisite for using them. So after all in the future you should be considering to upgrade to the latest version - of course vanishing the chance to enter ENG menu.
Also I do not understand that you are so keen on ENG menu anyway because your current situation just shows that you screwed your Comand by using that. What is the big benefit of it? Enabling video playback while driving? The MP3 playback from DVD in headunit should be something that any MB garage can enable for you. Of course they wouldn't enable the video playback while driving 
I would email you the AFAIK ~10MB Firmware CD image but I got the Comand updated in the garage and thus I do not have the CD with me. I also guess that others here might only have the latest firmware CD image but this seems to be the one you don't like to get or you already have from the aussie.

| Hello.
I have the latest firmware and so I'm looking for the 2004 firmware because I think I can't otherwise re-enable all the features.
Then I'll upgrade to latest since I guess then I'll not loose the MP3 features and all the rest.
So If anybody is so kind to email me (the latest 2006 firmware was 6Mb zipped) I can only be more then happy.
